Sarcoma on chest wall
Hi,

Has your partner had the surgery? I hope he is keeping well!! It is absolutely important to stay positive and not allow negative thoughts in to your system.

My brother who is 55 has had a lump on his chest wall (right side) for at least 18 months (they first noticed it in Feb 2009 when checking images from November 2008). He had chemo and now going through radiotherpy. We want to be proactive and know what options might be availble to us if the radiotherapy is ineffective. We have asked the doctors for possibility of removing the lump surgically but they tell us that surgery in that area is very difficult. Could you tell me what surgeon your partner saw? He/She might be able to help my brother.

Many thanks

Hi Lene,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. The blood test you ask about - GFR is to assess kidney function. If you google GFR it will give you all the information. Rodis.

what happens next????
Hi Raxxy,

we are not long back from hospital with the biopsy results, the doctor was lovely and explained everything very well. The biopsy came back as inconclusive, he said the cells were acting strange and if he had left it a year it would most defenetly be cancer, he said it is not breast cancer as it is behind the chest, and what we see is just the lump pushing it out. He has to get a full chest scan to see what its at, but he defenetly has to get it cut out, he also said if it this rare cancer it does not respond to radiation or radio therapy. It will be 3 weeks till he gets his scan another 3 weeks till the op. and another 3 weeks after that for the results as the lump has to be sent away. It seems such alot to take in and we are feeling numb, and not sure what to tell the kids and family.

regards lene
