Hi Paul

I was just wondering how your sister was getting on. Im currently going thru the same thing with my mum, she had the results of her bone scan the other day and it hasnt spread anywhere else except her brain, which was the new we were waiting on and the femara seems to be working. I wish i was as positive as her and just wanna wrap her up in a bubble and take her away from it all.

I hope and pray your sister is ok as I have been reading about her in this thread and you both sound like amazing people.

Take care

Hi Paul,

No problem I have been hard at work too, I kind of know what the doctor is saying, its all good, if the Cancer has not got worst this is great news as the worst it gets the hope of a recovery gets slimmer. And what he meant by it not getting better was there was no change and the cancer has not regressed. Although it might not be news that you wanted its still good news.

The thing is when I was told I had Cancer in the Jan, I was told it was the most aggressive kind, very large and grade 3 and if I didnt take treatment by December I would not be here that was 2 years ago. Although I am not as healthy as I was before cancer as I wake every day with pain, for me I live every day as if it were my last and enjoy what I can and try not to think of what I don't have. I have a strong mind and although I was born with it to some degree the CD that I spoke to you about helped me a great deal as it gave me the will to go on.

Although you may not know at this time you are just as strong as me although Kim is going though hell your is far worst as you have to stand by the side of the sister and soul mate watching her suffering and feeling useless. You are both very strong and that is I beleive the key. Positive thinking, and lots of help will see you through this I am sure.

I will pray for you both

Regards

hi jenny,

i havent been on for a few days because of work commitments, and also that i havent had anything to tell you. kim got a phone call from her consultant saying that the tamoxifen wasnt working as well as he had hoped, he told her that the cancer hadnt gotten any worst but hadnt gotten any better either, which i dont really understand! i didnt think it could get any better!!! going to see him tomorrow, so hopefully will have some more answers then, will be back on tomorrow night to let you know. thanks again for taking the time to reply, and thank you also for your kind words, it really does mean a lot. hope you are ok, and i just want you to know that you are still in my prayers. take care and ill let you know how we get on tomorrow.

I got the results of my fourth set of scans yesterday and everything is still stable. I would have to say that the osteoarthritis I have in my left hip (I was born with a slightly deformed hip anyway) now causes me more trouble that the cancer. It really does take a while to get your head around this whole thing. Find out if your sister's local hospice has a cousellor, who will be very experienced at helping people deal with this. I know it sounds awful to be in contact with a hospice, but believe me they are totally about LIFE and getting the most you can out of life. They probably also have complementary therapists who can help your sister to relax. I am not sure where I would be without my local hospice as I got to the point of being suicidal, but because they can respond quicker than the NHS they really can help. I think that now I really am enjoying and appreciating life far more than I have ever done.
Hi Paul,

It's me again, on diet be very careful before cutting out dairy foods it only help if the cancer is hormone receptive but if like mine it was not so it could do damage. I was told I needed a high protein and high dairy intake to protect my bones from the damage of 8 months of chemo. Please take a doctors advise on that subject.

There are a load of quick fix promises out there I found one that nearly killed me after that I stayed well away form so called natural fixer uppers.

Best wishes to you both

Hi Paul,

Thank you because believe me not everyone is as sweet and loving as you, I have two older brothers not that you would know it as I only hear from them when they need something so in that way I have no choice but to be strong. I not saying I think there is a magic cure out there but as a patient you have to draw on unlimited strength of mind. That site is where I got the strength to carry on and the comfort of sleep made me stronger and the belief that I could beat this curse call cancer.

I am praying for Kim too and you so you wont lose the will to go on, please let me know how she gets on with her tests there still are people out there that do care enough to stop and aid an injured traveller I wish you both well

Regard Jenny!http://www.cancerchat.org.uk/clearspacex/images/emoticons/love.gif!

i will look at the site you suggest and also the book. im willing to try anything and so is my sister who cant look at anything to do with this dreadful disease, she is trying to stay positive because she doesnt want to loose control infront of the children who havent been told yet! and is leaving all the research up to me!

shes still waiting for the results from her scan to come through, it just seems to be dragging, but no news is good news hopefully,

i will let you know how i get on, and thankyou for taking the time to respond.
