residential nursing home

at last my father came out of hospital after being in for 31/2 weeks and has now moved into his new home with a veiw to palitive care at a later stage he now weighs only 91/2 stone and is 83 years old but he is still walking but gets breathless . he has got terminal lung cancer and a lot of confusion . after seing him tonight he seems very relaxed a lot happier and very settled. and does like his new home it lookes like he is looked after very well and all the family is very pleased this has happened because he could not go back to his old house and look after himself.(MY FAMILY AND MY DAD KNOW NOW THAT HE IS GETTING 24 HOUR CARE AND THIS HAS RELIEFED LOADS OF STRESS THAT THIS SITUATION CAUSED.NOW WE CAN RELAX

Hi Alan. So pleased to hear dad is out of hospital and settling into his new home. As you say the 24 hour care is so important and at least now you will all be able to relax a little knowing he is safe and that medication is on hand. what a big change my father has really inproved since going into this home , they cannot do enough for him he is now down to 91/2 stone but he looks and feels a lot happier he has now started to go out to shops for an hour or go to local club with our family or freinds . he still knows he is dying with lung cancer but at the moment this does not seem to bother hih HE IS TAKING LIFE AT IT IS AT THE MOMENT tonight all the family are taking him to my local working mens club as it is his birthday today 84 yrs . the family are so pleased that he has perked up and getting about . his residential home have had a little party for him today. i hope that people on this forum do the same with their loved ones because it does help to let cancer sufferers do what they want to do
