Re: chemo
hi there. I am having my last chemo tomorrow as long as my bloods are ok. There was one occasion where it was borderline and i was told that i could have it providing i had a GCSF injection the following day.I didn't require it in the end but i wouldnt worry too much if possible. It is unlikely that youre blood count will be down for too long and even if thats the case there are ways around it so try not to be too disheartened. Try and see it as a blip rather than a total setback. Im sure when your bloods are rechecked next week they will be much improved. Ill keep my fingers crossed for you.x

Re: chemo
This happened to me twice. The transfusion worked and I only had to defer for a week each time. The transfusion also makes you feel so much better.

Re: chemo

Hello Cazi

After having my 3rd Chemo session of FEC I was about to have my 4th but when the nurse took my bloods I was informed that my count was 0.7. I was told that my count has to be atleast 1.0 to do the next session. I was upset as I just wanted to keep my chemo sessions on schedule. The nurse came back 2 days later and took my bloods again and I could not believe that in 48 hours my count had gone up to 1.7 in 48 hours! The nurse explained to me that our count goes down so low after each chemo session and the fact that it was up to 0.7 means it was already on its way up which is good which made me feel a lot better. It will go up and if they have any problems they said they could give you drugs that will help your body do this so don't worry.

Jules
