hi,

my sister got diagnosed with breast cancer back in july, she took the desicion to have her breast removed, and the surgeon removed 5 of her lymph glands, (3 of which were found to be cancerous) but she came through the op ok, and we thought all was well, but a few weeks later she found a lump on her neck, which they removed, but thankfully it wasnt cancerous, the doctors sent her for a body scan.

The doctor had re-assured my sister that he could make her well again, which was a big worry for her as she has 2 children, unfortunatley her husband has a very rare illness and lives life day to day, not knowing how his going to be the next morning! but the results showed that she had abnormaties on her spine, she went back to the hospital 2 days later and was told that the breast cancer was secondary, and that unfortunatly there was no more they could do for her, of course this shattered her, her husband and the whole family, except the children who dont know yet, theyve been through enough with their father being ill, and we are trying to spare them any un necessary worry and pain, until they have to be told.

the doctors have given my sister 2-5 years, she hasnt had any chemo or radiotheropy, which from reading some posts on the internet is a good thing, is this true? im at a loss and am trying to find out all i can for her, as she isnt ready to read anything just yet, i know its a lot to ask, because many of you are on here for the same reason as me, but if anyone has any thing helpfull to suggest on dietry or treatment, it would all be greatly recieved .

many thanks

paul

Hi Paul,

Sorry sorry to read the news about your sister.

Unfortunatly I can only offer you my good wishes as I have little knowledge of breat cancer issues. I am new to the forum too( mum just disgnosed)

Just thought I would suggest you move your post to life with cancer or symptoms as I have noticed it seems to get more posts/replies than the topic title you have posted on.

There seem to be quite a few ladies suffering from breast cancer on this forum unfortunatly.

Good luck and take care!

Hi Paul

I echo the sentiments of Canasta and would also strongly suggest you follow her advice and re-submit your post on one of the other regularly read threads ( I only clicked on here by accident and I don't suppose many others come here much!)

I am sure if you re-post you will receive a lot of help.
