My mum died 16 months ago from a brain tumour. She was diagnosed and given 3-6 months. The tumour was not treatable. She actually lived for 8 months and we had a good summer (good memories) before her health very quickly went downhill and she died within a week. She was 80 years old.

This week we have been told that her younger sister (I think early 70s) has been diagnosed with a brain tumour and has been given 2 months.

I am in the process of trying to get all the medical details and I want to write to my mum's consultant and ask what are the chances of this and could it possibly be genetic/hereditary?

Does anybody have any experience of this?
